Recovery Center for Women Service Day!

Okay guys here's the info about the service day on July 3rd. We are helping out the Extension's newest family member. We will be collecting items for their yard sale up until the day of the sale. You can drop off items at Preston's if you cannot make the yard sale on the 3rd but if you can come to help just plan to bring them on that day.

That day we will be cooking, labeling, sorting, and tons of other great and fun things. Please plan on joining in on what promises to be a fantastic day of fun, fellowship and service!!

Prayer Request for Carla and Jinna's family!

Carla, Jinna and their girls, are all going on vacation this Saturday to Hatteras NC for a week.
It's the first vacation any of them have had in about 4 years, they ask that we all keep them in prayer for safe travel. This is a needed break and a blessing that they have been able to work it out.

You will all be in our prayers and have a WONDERFUL time on your vacation!!!!!

Prayer Request for Kerry's Mom!

I couldn't have said it better myself so I am just attaching Kerry's own words here!

Dear Everyone,

As most of you know, my mom has been sick for several weeks. During this time, she has been in the hospital 3 times and during one of those times, she spent 6 days in ICU due to being septic from a kidney infection. She continues to have other problems that the doctors have not been able to identify. She has had CT scans, blood work and many other tests which have provided no diagnosis for her condition. She is weak and has constant nausea and vomiting. She has lost over 20 lbs. Yesterday, she had a CT scan of her brain to rule out possible neurological issues. Tomorrow, my father and I will be taking her to the neurologist to get the results of that test. Please pray that there will be no findings. If neurological issues are ruled out, the next plan of action is to do a diagnostic lap (surgery) to go in and look around for the problem. The gall bladder is of primary concern.

Please pray that my mother's health would be restored. My mother is a Christian and is a very giving and kind person. I know that she trusts the Lord. I definitely can see God's hand working in a positive way in my relationships with my dad and my sister. This is already an answer to prayer.

Prayer Request for Connie B

This is a request I would like to post for Connie B from Pamela P. Both ladies are part of our JC Finders family and they are both truly giving and caring individuals.

From Pam:
I'm writing on behalf of Connie B, one of our precious Stephen Ministers at Northstar church, to ask for your help in providing food and lawn care for her as she recovers from surgery on 5/19/09. Because of multiple surgeries prior to this, her recovery is expected to take 6 weeks in which she will not be able to drive, lift, tote, or bend. Her college-age daughter that lives with her has a part-time job this summer and cannot be there all of the time. Her other daughter leaves on 5/20 for 2 months in Thailand.

Connie has been such a blessing to Stephen Ministry and is becoming an integral part of our JC Finders family. She is so very open and desires so much to help others going through difficult times in their lives. I pray we can rally and support her during her recovery time. Thanks for your consideration!

We as a LG are on the 'food' schedule for the week of May 24 - 30. Some have already made arrangements to help but it others want to jump in please contact Pam at her e-mail in our LG directory! Love to you all!!!!!

Prayer Request for Kerry's Mom!

Hi all, this request is for Kerry's Mom. She has been in the hospital twice in the last few weeks and is still sick. She is having issues with everything from her heart to her kidney's not working properly. Kerry is very worried and has asked for you guys to be by her side in prayer. She goes to the doctor tomorrow for some more tests and we need all the prayers we can get. I will update you more as I know it and much, much love to you all! I miss all of you and hope you're doing well!!!

Prayer Request for Mary Lou!

Update on Kerry's Mom

Kerry's Mom is doing better. She is responding to medication and is actually eating some solid foods. She is still in the hospital and will be there for the next few days. I have been speaking with her and she knows we are praying for her faithfully. She wants to pass along her heartfelt thanks and love for all of you!!! :)

Urgent Prayer Request for Kerry!

Our very own Kerry H. needs our prayers immediately! Her mom (Dora) is in ICU with an abnormal heart rhythm. Please pray for Kerry, her Mom and the rest of her family as they are going through this tense time. We will let you know more details as they come in to us!

Prayer Request for Bambi's son!

Hi there everyone. Bambi has asked for prayers for her son AJ. He is having some pretty serious health issues at the moment and we would like to ask you to please pray for a swift diagnosis and recovery. I know that most of us have children and understand the feelings Bambi is having at this time. Please include her in your prayers as well! We love you Bambi!!!!!! :)

Update on Sandy!

Hi all! Just wanted to let everyone know that Sandy is healing well. She had her follow up appointment with the doctor last week and he told her that everything is looking good. She has been driving again and is actually walking around grocery stores shopping!! How awesome is that?! She still has about 3 more weeks of recovery though and I am sure she would appreciate phone calls, e-mails and cards of encouragement. Please continue to ask God to give her courage and strength during these last few weeks!! We love you Sandy!!!!! :)

Update from Jinna

I spoke with Jinna yesterday and her father is home from the hospital. He is, however, still not doing very well so please continue to keep him and the rest of Jinna's family in your prayers.

Prayer Request for Diane Johnson!

Diane has asked for us to pray for her nephew Nathan. He is 25, lives in Nevada (at the moment) and is going through a difficult period of his life. She asks that we all pray for God's continued guidance through this time. She has been witnessing to him but has not been sure of his acceptance of her words. She communicated to us that Nathan recently sent her a letter that he wrote glorifying God. She was blown away…and so incredibly thankful to our Lord for his grace and blessings. She could not have received better news. She feels like she has just heard that a life has been saved! PRAISE BE TO GOD! Please pray for him and the possibility that he might be able to move back home to Alaska to live with his family! Love to you all!!!!

Urgent Prayer Request for Jinna!

This is an urgent prayer request for Jinna's dad, Richard Singleton. He is being rushed to the emergency room from his cardiologist's office. He had some work performed on his heart a few weeks ago and now there is fluid building up. He lives in New Mexico and Jinna may need to get out there so please keep the entire family in your prayers! We will let you know more as news comes to us.

Frog's Famous Chili!

Hi everyone! Don't forget Frog's famous chili tomorrow at Gospel Light church. We will be there setting up around 10 am and you are all welcome to join us. If you want to bring something please get in touch with Preston as I believe he knows what we need and what we already have. If you haven't joined us there yet let me implore you to come and worship with us. There are many amazing people who will be there and it will lift your spirit to see God working in their lives as well as your own! Love to you all!!!!!

Feeding the Homeless!

Don't forget to put on your calendar that we are all going to Feed the Homeless at Gospel Light both this Wednesday (2/18) and NEXT Wednesday (2/25). This Wednesday we are doing Taco Salad. Please get in touch with Preston if you are not signed up but want to bring something. He will let you know what we need.

We did not originally ask for anyone to sign up for the following Wednesday, the 25th. Frog (my Dad) signed on to bring Chili and will be up there around 9am starting to cook it. He will just be in the parking lot over a very large cooking pot all morning socializing and fellowshipping with the guys so please come and just 'hang out' if you are able!! Preston will get an e-mail out about the 25th next week if anyone wants to help! Love u guys!!!!!!

Sandy's surgery went well!

Just wanted to let you all know that Sandy's surgery went well and she is recovering nicely. She is doing a lot of sleeping and is expected to come home sometime on Friday. Everything went very well and the doctors think she will make a full recovery! Please take a moment to pray for her continued healing.
Her mother is here to help take care of her when she comes home. While she has made it through this first jaunt she still has a few weeks of recovery ahead of her. We have a some meals assigned to take over to her so that neither she nor her mother need to do much cooking. If you would like to help with this just let us know. Other than that I think she is taken care of for now. Thank you all in advance and we'll update you with more news as more comes in! Love u guys!!!

Prayer Request January 29th!

We have two prayer requests for today. The first one is for Debra A. She has decided to sell her house in Alabama and just asks for prayer from all of us to be with her in this. We all love her and are grateful that she is staying but I am sure most of you know the difficult decision she has had to make. We also know the housing market is not the best right now so please pray for her house to sell quickly and for a fair price!
The second request is for Sandy C. She is facing some issues in her life right now that will be greatly aided with our prayers for her. Please just God to give her guidance, wisdom and strength. Sandy has been with us since the formation of our group and is truly one of our family. We are behind you all the way and will be praying for you!!

Prayer Request January 26th!

This is a prayer request we are asking for Kim's cousin Jordan. He is in the hospital and has just had surgery on his leg. He has a long road back to complete recovery and we are asking you all to keep not only him but his entire family in your prayers!

Prayer Request for Carla, Gail and Preston!

Hi everyone. I hope you are all staying dry on this very rainy weekend.
We ask for a prayer request for these three members of our JC Finders family. Both Gail and Carla are in the midst of looking for future employment and Preston is asking for God's guidance as he restructures his business. Please simply ask for God to keep HIS hands on them and help guide their decisions in all matters especially when it comes to their job futures. Prayer Request for the New Year!

There are many of us in our JC Finders Life Group who have been hit by this economy in our jobs, homes and families. I would like to ask all of you to remember those we know about and also those we do not know about who are facing hardships at this time. We ask that we all lift each other up in prayer to our Lord and Saviour who will faithfully take care of us!!

Pray for the Restoration of our Economy

During these economically turbulent times, let us turn to the Lord for guidance and support to move as a Nation towards stability and prosperity. Lord, our Father, may Your everlasting strength and resolve help solidify and bring together Your Nation of devoted followers to work towards uplifting the economy. We pray for You to forgive foreclosures, for the Nation’s dollar to be strong in value once again, and for the government to make wise and Godly decisions with the country’s national resources. Let us pray to You, oh Lord, to provide relief to those impoverished and in dire need; and for those of us with wealth and abundance to increase our charity and support as we were taught through Your divine teachings. Karen's home!!

Hi all! I hope everyone is having a great time in their post New Years relaxation. I just wanted to take a second and let you all know that Karen is at home and resting. She still has to recuperate and get her strength back but she is well on her way to feeling back to her old self.
