Hi everyone, I just wanted to put this up here so hopefully anyone who reads it will take a pause and remember what this county went through 7 years ago today. I cannot speak for each of you but I know personally it is a day I will never be able to put from my mind. There was so much tragedy in this one day that I hope God will give us the opportunity to learn from it to never let it happen again. I am so proud of our country and what we have managed to accomplish that I implore each of you to put your political views aside and just take a few moments today to talk with God and just remember . . .

I remember the Sunday after 9/11. I nearly had to sit in the lawn there were so many people at church. Each week after there were less and less until the attendance was about what it was before the tragedy. That has always bothered me.
It is so easy to only seek out the Lord when things are bad or we're scared; yet the beauty of God's love is that we can celebrate it every day and every Sunday with our worship, regardless of our station in life or our circumstances.
I hope the churches are filled this Sunday with folks that are seeking the safety of God's love as they reflect back on an awful day. I pray that his love will cement in their heart and they will find the joy that is ours to celebrate every Sunday, Monday, Tuesday......

I remember that day watching it all unfold on the TV at work. I remember assuming the first plane crash was an accident and the chill that ran through my body as the second plane hit and I realized what was really happening. I remember being seven months pregnant with Nicole and just hugging my body because it was the closest I could get to holding her. I remember wanting to get to Sydney to hold her close. I remember praying that day like I should every day. My heart is aching today for all those lost and those left behind. I had always taken being safe for granted...not anymore.

I remember too, Kim it sounds like you and I had almost the same path going on. I was pregnant with Gilly, just standing there frozen at that moment at work. I remember afterward the frenzy of people calling loved ones to make sure they were okay.
But I remember good things too. Like I remember how every store sold out of flags afterward. Never had I seen such a love for our country, you could look down my road and every house had at least one flag flying. I also remember all the heroes that God gave us that day, the images of people from every conceiable background helping, hugging, and praying with each other. I also remember how all the faces of the people at Ground Zero were covered with gray ash, so that you could only recognize them as mankind, God's wonderful creations, not by race or age. We all learned that day the definition of the words, "We Are One." Amen
Vividly remember 9/11. Woke up that morning on a layover in DCA. 3 miles down the river from the Pentagon. Changed my life and occupation forever. Still can't watch any replays of the airplanes hitting the WTC. Hit too close to home. Pray to God for the souls of those lost onboard, on the ground, and the valiant rescue workers.
